IEC 63310:2025 addresses the functional performance criteria and guidance for robots designed for deployment in the active assisted living connected home environment (AAL CHE).

IEC 63310:2025 does not encompass the safety requirements for robots.

It applies to robots that offer the AAL user (or AAL care recipient) one or more of the following services and forms of support within the AAL CHE:

Information and data management;
Monitoring services;
Communication assistance;
Activity assistance;
Mobility assistance;
Additional forms of support.

AAL robots may be subject to supplementary relevant regulations and standards.

IEC 63310:2025 is not intended for robots used in medical applications.
