The present document API RP 575:2024 offers valuable insights and advisable procedures for the upkeep and examination of atmospheric and low-pressure storage containers. While these maintenance and examination protocols could potentially be relevant to various tank types, the focus is predominantly on tanks that are currently in use and were originally designed and built in accordance with API’s aboveground storage tank criteria or specifications, as cited in Section 2.2.
This document covers the following aspects: a) detailed descriptions and visual representations of the different kinds of storage containers; b) standards for the construction of new tanks; c) maintenance routines; d) the rationale behind inspections; and e) factors contributing to degradation.
