IEC 63404:2024 sets forth the telecommunications-related standards for equipment intended to integrate a telecommunications device. This includes both the initial integration and future updates of a telecommunications device operating at a carrier frequency exceeding 380 MHz into new or modified host systems, which involves:
- Classifying different types of integration;
- Evaluating electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) immunity using a capability profile approach;
- Verifying the level of unwanted emissions from the radio transmitter and receiver.
